The Florilegium Project

Forty years of teaching, a lifetime of learning.

Based in the Philadelphia area, Kathryn spent decades as an art educator at an upscale private school before returning to her own work full-time. Her line is precise; her pigment, patient.

Each February she travels to Kaua‘i for a residency with the National Tropical Botanical Garden Florilegium — a community of artists documenting endangered Pacific flora. Her plates are held in the organization's permanent collection.

Art in the Garden

A summer exhibition at the residence of Lucretia Robbins.

Kathryn and fellow artist Lucretia Robbins open the gates of Lucretia's own backyard garden for an afternoon of botanical works shown among just some of the plants that inspired them—original paintings, drawings, and conversation, hosted in a natural space that's grown alongside their friendship for decades.
